Actress and environmental activist Daryl Hannah recently demonstrated her eco chops as “Connector of the Day” on Connect the World — a CNN series that takes viewers on a journey across continents and into the stories that are changing the world.

Hannah appeared on the show via Cancun, Mexico where she’s participating in the UN Climate Summit.

The actress is notorious for her environmental activism and has supported campaigns for a large array of green topics, including solar power, biofuel, conversation and animal-protection.

During the episode, Daryl answered viewer questions and shared her outlook on the movement’s progress.

“I have really noticed a huge call to action from people. It’s a growing movement and people all across the globe have really bonded together to insist upon global action,” said Hannah. “What is a little bit frustrating is that here we are in Cancun and three heads of state of the biggest carbon emitters couldn’t even be bothered to show up.”
