Former “Baywatch” beauty Pamela Anderson returned to the shore of her hometown, Vancouver Island, to keep oil tanker traffic far from what she calls “the most beautiful part of the world.”
While in British Columbia, Anderson launched a video campaign to persuade the Canadian House of Commons to approve a motion that would legislate a permanent moratorium on the transport of oil off of B.C.’s coast.
In the video seen below, the blonde nature lover walks along the beach of her grandmother’s property and warns that even “a 30-second navigational error could be catastrophic. Vancouver Island would be devastated … If there was an oil spill here, I don’t think it would ever recover.”
Luckily for Pam and “No Tanks” supporters, the motion passed last week by a close vote of 143-138.
