Canadian Election Day Weather

The 2011 Canadian federal election will take place on Monday. As always, weather can play an important role in the elections.

Weather can impact who does vote or is not able to reach the polls. This year will be no exception as several storm systems impact the provinces and territories of Canada.

The worst of the weather is expected across parts of British Columbia, Quebec and southeastern Ontario. These are some of the most populated areas of Canada.

Some of the largest cities in these areas will experience less-than-ideal weather.

Vancouver can expect periods of rain throughout the day along with some gusty winds near the coast.

A storm system will result in a rainy day for Ottawa, while rain overspreads Montreal from mid-morning on. Quebec City will stay rain-free for much of the day. However, by the late afternoon, some light rainfall will arrive. This same storm system will cause morning rain in the Toronto area.

Other major cities across Canada, including Winnipeg, Regina and Calgary, can expect dry weather on Monday.
