Americans will visit the 9/11 memorials on the 10th anniversary of the terror attacks to commemorate that fateful day that changed the country forever.

President Obama is scheduled to visit all three memorial sites from Ground Zero in New York City to the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., to Shanksville, Pa.

The weather will start out cloudy and cool on Sunday in New York City. Temperatures will be in the mid-60s to start the morning. There will be some breaks of sunshine during the afternoon with the high reaching the low to mid-70s. However, there could be an afternoon and evening thunderstorm around.

A cold front stalling over the mid-Atlantic coast will be the trigger for afternoon thunderstorms along the I-95 corridor.

Washington, D.C., will lie south of the front, so it will remain humid with partial sunshine. A couple of showers and thunderstorms can occur during the afternoon. The high will climb into the low 80s, but it will feel warmer with the high humidity factored in.

In Shanksville, Pa., there will be a mix of clouds and sunshine with a few showers and thunderstorms around, again mainly during the afternoon. The high will reach the mid-70s.
