“Just arrived in maplesville al #tornado” Kaitlin McCulley, a reporter for WIAT CBS42 in Birmingham, Ala., tweeted.
Severe storms and tornadoes ransacked the South Sunday night into Monday, destroying homes and claiming lives.
The storms have been producing golf ball-sized hail and wind gusts greater than 60 mph. There have been 21 tornado reports from the strongest storms.
In Arkansas, tornadoes were reported in Cleveland, Dallas, Lonoke, Prairie, Arkansas and Crittenden, Ark. Overnight, tornadoes were also reported in Chickasaw and Lauderdale, Miss., and Dickson, Tenn.
Deadly tornadoes struck Alabama early this morning, including the Tuscaloosa, Ala., which is an area still cleaning up from a large and devastating tornado that struck in April of 2011. Strong winds ripped the roof off of a home in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Tornadoes touched down in parts of Jefferson County, Ala., as well. According to local news, at least four people have been killed and others have been injured.
In Jefferson, one of the tornadoes destroyed several homes in the Paradise Valley area around 4 a.m. ET.
“The tornadoes should be dying down this morning as they head eastward into Georgia,” according to Expert Senior Meteorologist Henry Margusity.

A line of thunderstorms moved across the Mississippi Valley Sunday night.
As of 8 p.m. CST, a tornado was confirmed 4 miles northeast of Fordyce, Ark., moving northeast at 55 mph. Local law enforcement reports trees down. 2 house damaged on highway 8 northeast of Fordyce, Ark. No injuries were reported.
Amateur operators report soft-ball sized hail 4 miles south of England, Ark. Additionally, 2.75 inch (baseball-sized) hail was spotted in Griffith Spring, Ark. by local law enforcement. Golf ball-sized to baseball-sized hail was reported in Newport and Brinkley, Ark.
Amateur radio operator reported two funnel clouds 10 miles southeast of Hazen, Ark. around 8:15p.m. CST.

AccuWeather.com meteorologists were tracking a large tornado 25 miles west of Watkins Corner, Ark. moving northeast at 55 mph.
A tornado was reported on the ground one mile west of Burks, Ark.
A tornado was reported on the ground by storm chasers four miles northwest of De Witt, Ark.
Law enforcement reported a tornado on the ground at the junction of highways 11 and 165, 2 miles east of Lodge Corner, Ark.
National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Little Rock, Ark.
60 mph wind gusts and pea-sized-hail were reported in Campbell, MO around 9:16 p.m., local time.
A trained spotter reported a tornado on the round near Trebloc, Miss.
A possible tornado was reported in the city of Dickson, Tenn.
